I've loved tennis since I was 13 years old, and my current dream is to be a sparring partner for one of my idols, Grigor Dimitrov. Along my journey, I discovered a new passion–sharing tennis with others. After falling in love with Osaka–the energy, the food and the people–I made it my home.
Now, I'm here to help English-speaking expatriates and tennis enthusiasts maintain their game while living and exploring Osaka. Whether you want to improve your skills, stay sharp or just enjoy the sport, The Rising Court is here to support you.
Here at The Rising Court, we foster a community spirit. Tennis
is a fun and social sport, and we aim to connect passionate and like-minded tennis players.
We create social events on Luma, for you to exercise, improve your game
and meet friendly tennis players in your are. We limit the number of attendees per event to provide the best fitness experience. Our events
are level-graded to maximize enjoyment and minimize two-way frustration that could arise from huge level gaps.
As on-court time is limited, we strive for hitting the ball as
much as possible and then spend some social time after each session to get to know each other better around snacks and drinks.

I had a great experience coaching with The Rising Court during my Japan trip. Everything was well taken care of, from court (very beautiful!!) to equipments. The session was held fully in english and the explanations were easy to follow. I got some really useful feedback that I’m still using in my regular tennis. The coach has a friendly vibe and was easy to talk to, so the whole session feel relaxed and fun. Hope to see you again, The Rising Court!

He is knowledgeable about the sport and shapes the lesson to match the student. Coach Hobi exudes the type of energy that makes his lessons fun, rewarding and challenging. I cannot imagine an Osaka layover without the opportunity to brush up on my skillset.

I had two sessions during my short stay in Osaka! The experience was fantastic from the start. The intro call was spot-on as Hoby took the time to clarify my tennis objectives. What stands out most is the responsiveness: messages get quick replies, and scheduling lessons was totally smooth.
The lessons themselves were super effective with a fun combo of rallies and drills. There’s plenty of cardio and footwork, and Hoby gave clear instructions on exactly how to work toward my goals.
Highly recommend if you’re looking for an English speaking tennis coach!

I had two great sessions with Hoby from The Rising Court in Osaka, and I can’t recommend it enough! He organizes everything so smoothly, and it’s all in English, which makes it super easy for international players. Hoby is not only a great tennis coach, but also an excellent hitting partner for more advanced players. The atmosphere was friendly, professional, and really fun. If you’re looking for tennis coaching or just a solid hitting session in Osaka (which can be hard to find especially for internationals), this is the place to go!

Hoby has been amazing to work with. He is always in a happy mood and ready to make your game better. He focuses on the fundamentals and details in easy ways to understand. He also makes sure your fitness is a priority, too. I have seen much improvements since taking lessons from him. The weekend group sessions have been very fun and highly recommended.

Hoby explains a lot of little things, which is fun to learn. He teaches slowly, one step at a time, like puzzle pieces putting together to become a big picture. It's good because it helps me be aware of my movements and posture so that I can hit the ball properly. He's a fantastic coach!
